OPEN HOUSE MADRID - FOUNDER AND CO-DIRECTOR OF THE FESTIVAL, 2014 – present

Open House Madrid is an international festival of architecture and city. Its objective is to bring the architecture closer to the public by opening for visit different buildings of the city, explained by professionals during one weekend a year. In its first edition, 25,000 people visited 120 buildings, with more than 400 volunteers involved. The festival had a media visibility valued at  €860,000 and an audience of 16.5 million.

After the success of the first edition, the College of Architects of Madrid asked the festival to be in charge of "connecting" the architecture with the citizenship in their Week of Architecture celebration. 60,000 people participated in the third edition, in 2017.

As a specialist in cultural management and cultural consultant, Pati Nuñez founded in 2007 the agency specialized in communication strategies, with a focus on the fields of architecture, design and contemporary art.  She has advised numerous institutions and organizations on issues related to architecture and its dissemination such as the Institut Ramon Llull, the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat, the City Council, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, the College of Architects of Catalonia, the UIC School of Architecture, The Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona, the Enric Miralles Foundation or the Mies van der Rohe Foundation.

She has also advised many companies and architectural offices such as Juan Herreros, José Luis Mateo, Carme Pinós, Vicente Guallart, Flores & Prats, BAAS Jordi Badia, Enric Ruiz Geli, Enric Massip, Alday Jover, Solvia, Fundació La Caixa, Hewlet-Packart, Solvia.

PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR UNFINISHED EXHIBITION, PAVILION OF SPAIN | GOLDEN LION WINNERS AT THE VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNIAL

2016

 

UNFINISHED, the exhibition curated by the architects Carlos Quintans and Iñaki Carnicero showing the best Spanish architecture in the 15th edition of the Venice Biennale was the winner of the Golden Lion of the event.

Pati Nuñez directed the strategy of Positioning, Public Relations and Communication of the exhibition and the Pavilion of Spain.

AUTHOR OF THE BOOK "REMEMBERING CODERCH", 2016

Remembering Coderch is an approximation to the figure of the Catalan architect José Antonio Coderch, through interviews conducted by Pati Nuñez to important architects who knew him or worked with him.

The book also includes some of Coderch's most innovative and visionary works, "La Herencia," and it is a further commitment of Pati Nuñez for the researching and experimentation of new formats to spread the culture.

CONSULTANCY AND COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY FOR THE COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTS OF CATALONIA´S ARCHITECTURE CONGRESS, 2016

The College of Architects of Catalonia organized an Architecture Congress in which 10,000 people participated. Pati Nuñez advised, directed and executed the strategy and communication campaign of the Congress.

CO-CURATOR OF THE EXHIBITION “LA HERENCIA DE CODERCH”, PRODUCER AND SCRIPT WRITER FOR THE FILM “RECORDANDO A CODERCH”, 2015

After more than a year and a half of research, following the discovery of an unpublished project by the well-known Catalan architect, she co-curated the exhibition that made possible to retrieve and expose the project to the public in Barcelona, and generated excitement even beyond the architecture sector. The exhibition was completed with a documentary about Coderch in which she interviewed more than 20 architects. The film has already been requested by numerous architecture schools and professional associations.

CONSULTANT FOR HEWLETT PACKARD, 2015

For this international company, Pati Nuñez conducted a study of the most important international events of architecture and design worldwide and advice on how the brand should be present in each.

CONSULTANT FOR THE “PISO PILOTO” HOUSING EXHIBITION AT THE CCCB, 2015

 

The Contemporary Culture Centre in Barcelona requested Pati Nuñez’s collaboration to create a promotional strategy for the “Piso Piloto” Housing exhibition among both specialized and unspecialized publics.

CONSULTANT FOR THE ENRIC MIRALLES FOUNDATION, 2015

The Enric Miralles Foundation requested Pati Nuñez’s assessment to launch the programming of the 2015-2016 courses and a new academic program in collaboration with ETSAB. Pati Nuñez participated in the design of the program and the master in addition to directing the awareness campaign among architecture schools and media worldwide.

CREATION OF AN ARCHITECTURE CONTEST FOR THE SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE AND EPSON, 2014

 

With the aim of achieving greater dissemination of the final projects of the ETSAB students (Polytechnic University of Barcelona), Pati Nuñez designed the strategy of an architecture contest that would motivate students, introduce their projects to society and arouse interest on the part of the media. Pati Nuñez devised the strategy, established the competition rules, invited a jury of prestigious members and coordinated all events at the contest and Award. For this project she worked together with the brand EPSON.

In 2016, Pati Nuñez was awarded by the 13th Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism with the Prize for Dissemination for the Original Idea of the project "Examining at the Museum".

INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS AND DISSEMINATION CONSULTANT – MIES VAN DER ROHE FOUNDATION, 2009 – 2010

 

Pati Nuñez advised the Fundació Mies van der Rohe on the national and international media strategy for the dissemination of the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award, for its 2009 edition. Due to the success obtained, Pati Nuñez continued to advise the Foundation as Communication Director for the rest of programs.

In 2016 she made the strategic plan for the international positioning of the Fundació.

CONSULTANT FOR THE HIGHER COUNCIL OF ASSOCIATIONS OF ARCHITECTS IN SPAIN (COAM), 2013

Due to the government's leak of a draft of the new Professional Services Law that would modify the professional practice of architecture, the CSCAE (Higher Council of the Colleges of Architects of Spain)  set up a crisis cabinet to negotiate with legislators, to inform the public and to keep the architects cohesive. Pati Nuñez was part of this cabinet as a strategic and communication adviser.

VENICE BIENNALE – THE SPANISH AND CATALAN PAVILION,

2012, 2014

The Venice Architecture Biennale is the most important international event in the architecture sector. Pati Nuñez was responsible for international dissemination and public relations strategy for the Spanish Pavilion in 2012 and for the Catalan Pavilion in 2014. Since 2006 she has been attending the international event, where she organizes presentations, debates, press conferences, etc for different organizations such as the Fundació Sorigué, the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia or Estudio Juan Herreros, among others.
